Something genuinely strange happened on the Big Brother 28 feeds overnight. The three returning players who spent a week building the case against Drew Campbell started trying to undo it, and they started trying while their own target still had no idea he was in trouble. Dee Valladares led the effort, Rick Devens went along with it, Angela Murray listened and then wobbled, and by the time the feeds settled nobody could tell you with confidence who is leaving on Thursday.
What The Overnight Feeds Actually Showed
Set the board first. Haley Thogmartin won Week 4 Head of Household and nominated Drew, Melody Morris and Taylor Brown. Taylor won the Power of Veto and used it on herself, and Haley named Lyric Medeiros as the replacement. That leaves Drew, Melody and Lyric on the block, with the BB Blockbuster still to come. What is new is that the consensus behind evicting Drew cracked on Tuesday, and it cracked from the inside.
Dee Pitched Devens First, Then Angela
The sequence matters. Dee talked with Devens and Yash about the vote, and once Yash walked away she floated something else entirely, which was keeping Drew. Her plan had a shape to it. The Crossovers would tell Drew he was actually in danger, then push him to go win over Kamu Kirk, Haley and Chuk Anyanwu himself. That way the rescue would look like the other side of the house had thought of it, and the rest of the Toolshed could be sold on it as their own idea. People walked in before they could finish. She took the same pitch to Angela later.
Angela Said Wait Until Wednesday Or Thursday
Angela was more receptive than Devens expected. Her reasoning was cold and correct. She said they know Drew’s game, and a Drew who owes them a favor is a Drew who goes after Kamu, Haley and Chuk instead of them. She also said the smarter move was to hold the flip until Wednesday or Thursday night, because floating it early gives the house too much time to think it through. Then a later conversation between the three of them pulled the air back out of it. That is where things stood when the feeds went quiet.
Yash Is The Wall In The Middle Of This
Every flip needs a vote count, and Yash is the reason this one does not have one yet. He wants Drew gone and he has said so repeatedly, to Dee, to Devens and to Lyric. He also has his own preference between the other two, which is keeping Lyric because she is a usable number for him. He told Lyric flatly that everyone in the house is lying to Drew about his safety. A player that clear about his position is hard to quietly recruit into a last minute reversal, and Dee needs several of him.
Drew Still Has No Idea
This is the uncomfortable part. As of the overnight feeds, nobody had told Drew the truth. Mallory Aurichio promised him her vote, Barrett reassured Melody she was fine against him, and the group that decided he should go spent the day letting him believe he was a pawn. He spent part of Tuesday joking about a new alliance and pumping up Barrett, Mallory and Melody. There is a version of this week where the people who nominated him rescue him and he never learns how close it was, and there is a version where he walks out on Thursday still thinking he had the numbers.
Kamu Wants Lyric Gone And That Complicates Everything
If the flip does happen, the vote does not simply become easy. Kamu has been the loudest voice for evicting Lyric, arguing she is both more popular and more competitive than Melody. Lyric has not helped herself. She threw Mallory under the bus, apologized for it twice, and has spent the week talking her way back from that betrayal while LaTrice Verrett quietly reassures her she is safe. Mallory and Lyric even agreed in front of Yash to publicly pretend to be enemies so Mallory can farm trust from Kamu, Haley and Chuk. Nothing about that group is stable.
The BB Blockbuster Decides Which Two Face The Vote
All of this planning is provisional, and that is the format doing its job for once. The three nominees compete in the BB Blockbuster before the live eviction, and the winner is safe. If Drew wins, the house has to pick between Melody and Lyric, and Lyric is probably the one in trouble. If Lyric wins, Haley gets the exact matchup she wanted and Drew has to sell his own survival in a day. If Melody wins, Drew and Lyric sit next to each other and the house genuinely splits, because both of them have people who want them to stay.
Why I Think The Flip Fails
Reputations are heavy things in that house. Dee, Devens and Angela spent a full week making Drew radioactive, and you cannot decontaminate someone in forty eight hours using the same mouths that poisoned him. The moment they start advocating for Drew, everyone else asks why, and the honest answer is that they realized he was useful to them, which is exactly the answer that gets them looked at next. Add Yash refusing to move, Kamu focused on Lyric, and Angela’s instinct to stall, and you get a flip that is real as a conversation and unlikely as an outcome. I expect Drew to leave if he is still there after the Blockbuster.
