The overnight feeds were not quiet. Between roughly 10:40 p.m. and 1:20 a.m. BBT, Haley Thogmartin had two long conversations that named two different targets. The only thing they shared was the reason underneath. She wants Drew Campbell and Melody Morris separated, and she will describe that goal however the listener needs to hear it.
The Version Haley Gave Angela
Angela cornered Haley in the HOH room just before eleven and asked the question the house has been avoiding: who goes home against who. Haley did the usual dance, then said it plainly. If Lyric Medeiros and Drew end up on the block together after the BB Blockbuster, Drew is the one going, because they do not want Drew and Melody left in the house as a pair.
Angela also asked whether Barrett had been told the plan for Drew. Haley admitted she put that off as long as she could but finally did it that day because Barrett was getting antsy, and promised him he was safe. Minutes earlier she told Angela that if she has to cut a deal with Mallory, she would build one protecting Angela, and if she could protect two, she would add Dee.
The Version Haley Gave Taylor
Just after one in the morning, Haley whispered with Devens in the kitchen, then called Taylor Brown up to the HOH room, saying only that it was the same thing they talked about earlier. Once the door closed, the story shifted.
Haley told Taylor she never really wanted Drew as a target, but that she has to separate Drew and Melody, so Melody is the one she wants gone. The reason she offered was that Melody said she would target LaTrice. That is convenient framing for the person who just won the veto and has been vocal about not trusting her.
Both Stories Serve The Same Goal
Line the two conversations up and the contradiction mostly evaporates. Haley does not have a fixed target. She has a fixed outcome: Drew and Melody cannot both survive Thursday. She is letting the BB Blockbuster decide which one falls, and whoever is left beside Lyric becomes the target.
That is not a bad strategy in isolation. The problem is she is running it out loud to people who compare notes constantly. A story that changes with the audience only works when the audiences do not overlap.
Kamu And Dee Are Still Pulling Opposite Directions
Wednesday daytime set this up. Kamu pitched Angela and Haley on keeping Lyric and sending out whoever sits beside her, arguing that splitting Drew and Melody is the priority. Dee spent the same afternoon going the other way, saying flatly she would vote to keep Drew no matter what, and telling the camera she needs Drew to stay and wants Kamu gone.
Dee also pressed Angela on whether Kamu, Chuk and Haley had swung back toward evicting Drew. Angela backpedaled and blamed the confusion on being hungry from slop, the least convincing deflection of the season. Dee noticed.
Drew And Barrett Already Know Where They Stand
Around midnight, while the Have Nots assembled plates for the end of their punishment, Drew and Barrett sat in the hot tub room doing the math on themselves. Barrett said the upside of their group is that they are the biggest targets. Drew finished it: and we are at the bottom of that.
It is a bleak exchange and the most self aware Drew has been all week. He spent the episode telling Haley he trusted her. Overnight, with nobody to perform for, he sounded like someone who had already read the room.
Mallory And Melody Read It Correctly
Just before eleven, Mallory and Melody were in the workout room working out why Lyric went up. Mallory landed on the right answer: Haley put her there because Lyric is close to the two guys. Melody added the second half, that Haley also knows Lyric is the likeliest to survive a vote.
Melody has been telling allies she intends to use her eviction speech to go after Haley directly if she does not win the Blockbuster. Given that she has already admitted to trashing Haley behind her back last week, there is no reason to think she is bluffing.
Lyric Is Having A Better Night Than Anyone On The Block Should
Lyric spent the late night washing dishes with Kamu and offering him her bed in the Have Not room, at which point production put all four cameras on them. Around 1:18 a.m., Yash pulled her into the pod room and told her that no matter what happens, she is fine tomorrow.
That is two of the strongest vote blocs quietly reassuring a nominee the night before an eviction. Meanwhile Melody and Mallory were up wondering whether a battle back is still coming, which is what you talk about when you can feel the floor moving.
What To Watch For On Thursday Night
The BB Blockbuster is the whole ballgame. If Melody wins, Drew and Lyric go to a vote and Haley has to actually pick, which is where Dee makes her stand. If Lyric wins, Drew and Melody are up together and the house gets the split it wanted. If Drew wins, Melody and Lyric face off and Kamu has to defend his own pitch.
