Kamu Kirk won the Week 5 Power of Veto and left it in his pocket. For the first time all season the veto went unused, which means Lala’s nominations are the ones the house will vote on. Haley, Chuk Anyanwu, and Barrett all stayed exactly where they started.
Kamu did not sit on that power quietly. He told the nominees Lala had threatened to send Devens up if he pulled anyone down, and pointed them at the Block Buster instead. Why Kamu Sitting On His Own Veto Was The Real Power Move
On the feeds it was the sharpest move of the week. Kamu is a former Red Corner player watching his old alliance get picked apart, and touching those nominations would have tied him back to Haley and Chuk at the moment he most needs distance from both.
More than one player has flagged him as the guy who quietly wins things and would run the jury. Playing the middle bought him this week, but it put a target on him for next week that he has not talked his way off.
Haley Is The Target And She Already Knows The Math
Lala has been consistent about who she wants gone, telling the house the order should start with the former softball player. That is Haley, and she has already run the numbers herself. She thinks Dee, Angela, and Kamu might hand her sympathy votes, but sympathy is not a plan, and the count is not there.
Barrett, meanwhile, is sitting pretty. Mallory told him flat out that he has the votes to stay, which fits the house read that he is a pawn who was never in real danger.
The Block Buster Is The Only Variable Left
The Block Buster still stands between the nominees and the vote, and whoever wins it pulls themselves off the block entirely. Haley has been openly confident she can win it, and honestly, it is the only version of this week where she survives.
A locked vote is boring television, but a locked vote with one live lifeline is where blindsides come from. Haley losing the Big Brother 28 Block Buster ends her week cleanly. Haley winning it turns Thursday into a scramble, and this house has not proven it handles scrambles calmly.
Barrett Is Playing Both Sides And Getting Away With It
For a guy on the block, Barrett is having a remarkably good week. He is safe, trusted, and quietly steering conversations he has no business steering. He has been coaching Melody Morris and Mallory Aurichio on messaging, even telling them to keep comparing Chuk, Haley, and Kamu to the Jag, Matt, and Bowie Jane trio from BB25.
He is also in FAP, a four-person alliance with Drew, Mallory, and Melody that got exposed to Devens on the feeds this week. Production has reportedly kept that name off the broadcast, but the alliance is real and already leaking. Barrett is the one player managing to look loyal to everyone while committing to no one.
The Newbie Versus Vet War Is Getting Louder
The overnight talk has hardened into something closer to a plan. Drew Campbell and Barrett are pushing Kamu as the next target once this week clears, while Dee and Melody would rather aim at Yash first. Nobody agrees on the order, but the newer side agrees on the goal: thin the veterans before jury locks in.
Taylor is right in the middle of it, reviving her Tethers alliance talk with Devens and Kamu. The irony is that Lala, who holds the power this week, still does not know Barrett and Drew have already told other people what her plans are.
Dee Doesn’t Trust Taylor, And That Could Reshuffle Everything
Dee has been the quiet architect of more than one vote this season, and her instincts are twitching again. She told Devens she is not vibing with Taylor and named Taylor, Lala, and Yash as the strategic threats she is tracking. When Dee starts naming names in private, recent history says a move is not far behind.
There is also a loaded piece nobody is accounting for out loud. Devens is holding an unused Diamond Power of Veto, and he has said he would have used it aggressively if he had ever been backdoored. A dormant power with a player this plugged in can turn a predictable Thursday memorable.
What Thursday Actually Looks Like Right Now
If the Block Buster goes to anyone other than Haley, she is almost certainly the fifth houseguest evicted, and Week 5 ends as the first clean, drama-light vote of the season.
If Haley wins the Block Buster, throw all of that out. The vote reopens, Chuk moves back into danger, and the two factions finally have to commit to a target instead of talking around one. Either way, the feeds have told us more than the broadcast will, and the only question left is whether Haley can win the one thing between her and the exit.
