Five Thousand Dollars Is a Strange Kind of Weapon
Here is where I get skeptical about the BB Bribe. It is real money in a normal week and pocket change next to what the winner of this show takes home. A bribe only lands on somebody who has already quietly decided they are not winning.
Offer it to a player who still believes they can go the distance and you have handed them free proof that you are scheming. That makes this power less a weapon than a test. Whoever Dee approaches will learn something about her, and she will learn something about them. Keeping it secret is correct, and the second she spends it the secret is worth nothing.
Melody Said the Quiet Part Out Loud
Melody then sat down with Haley and admitted that if she had won the competition, Haley would have gone on the block. There is honesty, and there is handing your enemy a signed confession. This was the second one, and Haley barely needed the help. She had been circling Melody all episode.
Drew Is the Pawn and Everyone Knows What That Means
Drew’s problem is older than this week. Angela has been planting doubt about him for a while, Devens decided he had become a liability, and both Drew and Barrett have drifted from the alliance now operating as Red Corner rather than Tool Shed.
Haley nominated Melody, Taylor and Drew, then told Drew he was a pawn. Either Melody or Taylor leaving benefits her game, she said. Drew was not thrilled and could not do a thing about it.
He also spent days hinting at coin flipping and unexpected moves, which had feed watchers convinced he was holding a power. He was not. Dee was. Bluffing about a power you do not have is a fine tactic right up until the person with the real one is sitting quietly across the room.
LaTrice Tried a Bus Toss and Haley Was Not Buying
LaTrice made her own play, going to Haley to put Melody under the bus. Haley read it as self preservation and moved on. It is a small scene that says a lot about where LaTrice sits in this game: still here, still not trusted, still surviving because other people are bigger targets.
What Wednesday Actually Decides
Wednesday is the veto episode, and with three nominees it carries more weight than usual. Pull one person down and the house still has to choose between the other two, so the veto winner effectively picks the shape of the week.
The unspent powers are the real story. Devens has a Diamond Power of Veto. Dee has a bribe nobody knows exists. The Coin of Destiny and the HOH Takeover are still floating out there unclaimed. Ever since Jason walked out on a 12-0 vote, this house has proven it will move as one bloc, and a power is the only thing that reliably breaks a bloc.
