Three things happened over the weekend. LaTrice Verrett won the Power of Veto. Drew Campbell talked his way off the target list with the same nomination speech that made Taylor Brown scream at him. And Rick Devens quietly pointed the entire week at Mallory Aurichio instead.
LaTrice Won the Veto
The competition ran Saturday, an eighties aerobics themed physical challenge with houseguests in leotards, tights and sweatbands. Six played: Dee Valladares as Head of Household, the three nominees, and Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer as the drawn players.
LaTrice took it, her first competition win of the season, and her fitness background is getting the credit. One feed site described a tongue round as part of the format, which is single sourced and worth a raised eyebrow. Her line afterward was that she does not care about people getting mad, because that is what they are all here for.
The Veto Ceremony Has Not Happened Yet
As of early Monday morning it is still pending. A few sites are writing about the replacement nominee in a way that reads like it already happened, and it has not. What exists is a plan, not a result.
The expectation is that LaTrice removes herself and Dee puts up Mallory. That is where the week has been heading since Saturday, but nothing is final until the ceremony actually runs Monday.
Drew Talked Himself Off the Block
This is the turn nobody saw coming. Drew’s nomination speech, in which he called out Taylor and LaTrice over the meeting about targeting the veteran players and described himself as the biggest liar in the house, was supposed to be a nominee flailing. Instead it worked.
Dee praised him for it, reconsidered evicting him, and started looking elsewhere. He went into the ceremony as the target and came out of it rehabilitated with the person holding the power, which is not a sequence you see often.
Devens Redirected the Week at Mallory
Rick Devens is the engine of what followed. Before the veto players were even drawn he was working Angela and Dee on making Mallory the replacement and the target, arguing she would come after them, that she is a jury threat, and that she threw a Head of Household competition.
Dee ruled out the alternatives one by one. Haley Thogmartin is loyal and clueless in her read. Yash Patel is protected by the bribe, and Dee said privately that if the deal did not exist he would be backdoored. Drew campaigned hard for Yash as the renom without knowing about the deal at all.
The Never Not Pass Leaked
Drew told Dee about the Never Not Pass hoping it would buy him trust. It did not, and worse, it did not stay quiet. By Sunday afternoon he was in the backyard admitting to Melody Morris that he had told Dee and worrying she had spread it.
She had. Within the hour Drew and Barrett confirmed Haley knew, and they traced the leak straight back to Dee. The pass he was saving to spring dramatically at the next Have Not picks is now roughly common knowledge, which is a lot of value burned on a play that did not land. Saturday Was Loud and Sunday Was Louder
Saturday’s blowup was Angela and Taylor in the pod room over the Honor Society and secret alliances generally. Taylor got emotional, said she was ready to go home, and later told the feeds she was blowing the place up with herself still in it. Angela apologized. Taylor went to the HOH room near midnight to apologize to Dee for messing up her aura.
Sunday night was worse. Dee told Mallory she was under consideration around 7:45pm PT and the house came apart. Mallory cried in the pod room. Melody cried alone in the gym, then screamed into a pillow, and production pulled her to the diary room. Mallory later slammed a door hard enough to knock a clock off the wall.
The four person group of Drew, Barrett, Melody and Mallory is finished as a functioning alliance. Mallory told Barrett she believes the veteran players used FAP to get Kamu out, and Drew told Devens flatly that they have lost Mallory and Melody to the other side.
Melody’s assessment of the jury situation was blunt enough to be worth quoting in spirit if not in full. She said she would quit before living in a jury house with Haley, and said she was not joking. There was still an FAP meeting running at 12:14am Monday with Mallory scolding Drew for cozying up to Dee, which comes from one feed log only.
Barrett Is Holding Two Final Twos
Dee and Barrett had an intimate conversation Sunday night where she confronted him about critical comments he had made and he reaffirmed his loyalty. Then at 12:47am he re locked his original final two with Drew, telling him he is the only person who ever offered one.
Barrett now holds a final two with the Head of Household and a final two with the person she was targeting three days ago. That works right up until both of them are in the same room, and Thursday is a live eviction.
What Thursday Actually Is
The live eviction doubles as Big Brother’s 1,000th episode, running 90 minutes with a Blockbuster competition, returning houseguests chosen by fan vote, and what CBS calls the biggest twist of the season. No twist details and no returning names have been released.
The Have Nots this week are LaTrice, Mallory and Taylor. Drew is exempt because of the pass, which is the one thing it is actually good for.
